Many of you may not know that before Gilligan’s Island was a successful television sitcom, it was a live play (this is not true but the rest of the post depends on it). This dog was a part of the live performances, he played Gilligan’s nameless dog. Unfortunately, once Gilly hit the big time the dog was cut from the cast, as he was believed to be out of the budget. He was late replaced by the Professor. Personally, I think it would have been much funnier if it was the dog making chemicals in coconut shells and being all resourceful like.
